The Taipei City Animal Protection Office held a "Furkids Summer Party" today (22nd), where pet parents brought their furkids to the Zhumei Dog Off-Leash Area to enjoy a fun summer holiday.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office , in coordination with the "2024 Taipei Water Dance Festival" event, held a "Furkids Summer Party" in the Zhumei Dog Off-Leash Area. The event featured summer exercises and water dance appreciation activities. At least 60 pet owners and their furkids registered to participate in the pet fun competition, attracting many enthusiastic pet parents and their furkids. Additionally, there were 100 free rabies Vaccines slots available on-site, allowing the pets to complete their annual health and vaccination requirements promptly.


Chen Jun-An, Director of the Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government, stated that Taipei City already has 21 dedicated dog activity spaces, allowing pet parents and their furkids to interact safely within the parks. These spaces are categorized into three types based on pet owners' needs: "Training," "Energy Release," and "Family Fun." To coordinate with the 2024 Taipei Water Dance Festival, the Taipei City Animal Protection Office especially chose the nearby Zhumei Dog Off-Leash Area to hold the "Furkids Summer Party" event. Through recreational equipment and interactive activities, pet owners and their pets could enjoy fun interactions and experience the dog activity area. Additionally, it was announced that a new dog activity area in Xinxin Park, Nangang District, will be opened this November, bringing the total number of dedicated dog activity spaces in Taipei City to 22.


Citizens participating in today's event , Citizens can take a photo with the Summer Party billboard and upload it to the comments section of the raffle post on the "臺北毛孩趣旅行" Facebook page by June 24th for a chance to win eco-friendly cups and cookies, among other prizes. Additionally, the water dance performances will run until June 30th, with five sessions daily from 7 PM to 9 PM, each lasting 5 minutes every half hour. After the event, pet parents can take their furkids for a walk to Songshan Xikou (Rainbow) Wharf to enjoy the dazzling water dance show.
