Perspectives

Due to rapid transition in the metropolitan city and the increasing number and variety of pets raised by residents, TCAPO provides inspection for zoonotic transmissible diseases, in addition to original services, in the hope of maintaining the health and welfare of animals and owners.

In collaboration with provincial animal disease prevention measures to stop the spread of diseases and to ensure health and profit of farmers, TCAPO holds regular examinations for statutory transmissible diseases including: swine fever, foot and mouth disease, bovine/ovine tuberculosis and brucellosis.

Furthermore, TCAPO has been promoting pet microchip implants and computerized management so registered pets can be traced, for enforcing human and animal safety and public health.

The Taipei Animal Shelter was established under the TCAPO to provide information for raising pets and adoption services.

It is our job to provide cremation service and provide better services to eliminate contamination by infectious animals and the spread of disease.

In addition, TCAPO augments the importance of zoonotic disease inspection for pets and offers inspections to people who apply for the service.

TCAPO also assists private animal societies to promote adoption and sheltering of abandoned animals.
