TCAPO and TAEA working hand in hand to promote stray-cat-friendly policies

Taipei City Animal Protection Office (TCAPO) has been working with Taiwan Animal Equality Association (TAEA) to carry out “The Midnight Cafeteria” project, planning to build 20 dining wooden houses for stray cats in Taipei. The main idea of this project is to provide stray cats a better environment to dine and rest, creating a stray-cat friendly city and promote animal welfare at the same time.
The Midnight Cafeteria project was first launched in 2020 and 45 stray cat dining shelters were built. Local volunteers were in charge of feeding stray cats and cleaning up shelter houses periodically. This year, combined with enhancement of the Taipei Cat Care Programme (TCCP), the Midnight Cafeteria program put emphasis on ensuring the quality of life of stray cats and maintain a tidy cityscape as well.
Stray cat dining shelters can now be seen in many corner spots in Taipei. If you wish to know more about this program or stray-cat- friendly policies, feel free to check out the official website of TCAPO or the Midnight Cafeteria fan page!
