Taipei City Animal Protection Office

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office (TCAPO) has received a notification in July 2019 that a shopping mall in Wanhua District was selling plastic snap mice traps, which are considered illegal by Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan. The TCAPO sent animal protection officer went to the shopping mall to inspect and detained illegal mice traps immediately. The officer traced the supply to the importer and issued fines of 15,000NT to the shopping mall and supplier.

The TCAPO emphasizes that plastic mice traps are lethal to many types of animals such as dogs, cats and wild animals .Therefore，to improve animal welfare，if anyone finds violations of animal protection laws，please call the 1999 or 24 hours animal rescue line (02-87913064~5).
