TCAPO also recommended public the principles of preventing rabies: “Stay away from wildlife, do not abandon domestic pets, and get pets vaccinated every year.”
On September 21st, TCAPO provided 100 rabies vaccines for free at Tammei Pet Park and invited several celebrities and public to bring their dogs to complete the annual rabies vaccine injection. A week before that day, 289 notifications of rabies vaccination were sent to the citizens in the district. Meanwhile, TCAPO also invited public to use the hashtag “rabiesendshere” while checking in on Facebook, and encouraged participators to join the Good Master event, anyone with their pets that had completed annual rabies vaccination and pet microchip registration would get one present. In the end, there were 23 dogs completing the annual injection and pet registration in response to the World Rabies Day (on September 28).
