Taipei City Animal Protection Office

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office has discovered 3 cases of illegally dogs and cats-boarding businesses, and 2 cases in which environmental facilities for the exhibition and sale of animals in stores of legal specific breeds pet dealers did not comply with relevant regulations this year (2020). Administrative sanctions have been imposed according to law. The total amount of fines was NT$460,000.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office urges pet owners to choose legal dog and cat breeding, trading, and boarding dealers. A legal dealer is required to apply for a specific breeds pet business license issued by the local competent authority, to obtain anima(pet)-related professional knowledge as well as to be subjected to annual inspections by the Taipei City Animal Protection Office. When it comes to illegal pet dealers who did not gain relevant qualification certifications and trainings, the management of animals may cause seriously risks of welfare of animals and the rights of pet owners. If citizens find any illegal dog and cat breeding, trading, and pet-boarding business, please assist in collecting relevant evidence and actively report to 1999 citizen special line or animal protection special line (02-8789-3064~5). The Taipei City Animal Protection Office will do its best to crack down on illegal pet business to protect the rights and interests of pets and their owners.
